Lot Description

A mid Victorian brooch. The replacement rectangular-shape opal panel, with split pearl double surround. Length 3.1cms. Weight 8.9gms.

<li>Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.


<li> Soft solder marks and evidence of repair to reverse of brooch.<p>

<li> Split pearls with yellowish white lustre.<p>


<li> Replacement opal panel.<p>



<li> Opal with blue-green-purple play of colour.<p>



<li>Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.<p>


<li> Some damage to the nacre of the split pearls.<p>
