A fine early 19th century English ormolu and black slate mantel timepiece.
Vulliamy, London, the 3.5 inch gilt dial inscribed VULLIAMY LONDON between XI and I, with dot minute markers and Roman numerals framing a finely engine turned centre, the single-train timepiece movement with backplate engraved 'Vulliamy London' in cursive script, with punch numbered rear door, the drum-shaped case surmounted by a perching eagle, its beak open with wings drawn up, on a pedestal base applied with a mount depicting the struggle of Hercules and the lion, on spreading base with further snakeskin-effect mount, 14", (35.5cm) high.
