Lot 54

Lot Description

An early twentieth century silver bonbon dish with pierced circular motifs, the whole raised upon a stepped foot, hallmarked Oldfields Ltd., Birmingham 1916, width measures 3 1/2 inches (9 cm). Together with a late Victorian silver open salt with fluted lower body and embossed rim, Birmingham 1897, a silver fork, a silver spoon and two silver condiment spoons, plus a large selection of assorted plated ware and cutlery. Gross weighable silver 3 ozt (94.2 grams).

Postage: Not Postable

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The bonbon dish has compression to the interior bowl from the foot causing it to appear off centre, minor bumps to the pierced motifs, remnants of polish visible, maker's mark partly obscured, other hallmarks clear and legible, further marked 'Oldfield Ltd Liverpool - Rd 611050' beneath the base. The open salt is heavily tarnished and would benefit from a clean and polish, no glass liner present. The bowl of the spoon is creased and mis-shaped, condiment spoons also appear bent. The plated ware and cutlery is in a varied state, displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
