Lot Description

An early twentieth century silver sandwich box, of oblong form, dual hinged with ring handle and opening to a silver-gilt interior. Hallmarked James Dixon and Sons, Sheffield 1910. Length measuring 5 3/4 inches (14.5 cm), weight 9.9 ozt (309 grams).

The box displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. A dent to the cover and body to one side. Some deeper scratches. Remnants of a sticky label to the cover. 'Smartwater' or similar appears to have been used to the interior. Hinges in good working order. Hallmarks clear and legible.
