Lot Description

A 1920's silver tankard, the plain barrel form with reeded rim and base, the hinged lid partly domed with flat top, shaped edge and scrolled thumb-piece to a serpentine handle. Hallmarked Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd., London 1924. Height including thumb-piece measuring 5 1/8 inches (13 cm), weight 13.8 ozt (429 grams).

Condition Report

The tankard appears in good overall condition, displaying some light tarnishing, surface marks and scratches. Hinged lid appears in good working order. Residues of polish to some areas. Some visible seam lines. Hallmarks clear and legible with some rubbing. Maker's mark a little distorted but still legible. Corresponding part hallmarks to flange of lid.
