A late Victorian gold sapphire signet ring. The rectangular-shape sapphire, with intaglio crest and motto 'Tace Aut Face', of the Scott family. Ring size N. Weight 6.5gms.

<li>Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Band shows evidence of repair/ resize, solder and pitting marks visible.
<li>Scott family location, Donald Albert, Esquire, of Beaconsfield House, Hingham, Norfolk.
<li>Sapphire with inscribed motto translates as, 'Keep Silence Or Do.'
<li>Intaglio depicts, a wing, a semee of bay-leaves and a crescent pean.
<li>Sapphire is a pale blue, fairly well saturated, with good clarity.<p>
<li>Sapphire is in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles.<p>
<li>Sapphire is a modified rectangular-shape with truncated corners.
<li>Length of ring head 1.4cms.
