An early to mid Victorian 18ct gold operculum necklace. Designed as a slightly graduated operculum collet line, with belcher-link two-row spacers and concealed push-piece clasp. Length 42.5cms. Total weight 82.9gms.

Condition Report
<li>Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Some wear to the gilt finish to reverse of some mount. Some with more noticeable small dents.<p>
<li>Operculum shells in overall good condition, a few with fine hairline fractures and typical surface blemishes.<p>
<li>Estimated dimensions of largest operculum and mount 26 by 24 by 10.7mms.
<li>Electronically tests as 18ct gold.<p>
<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
