A late Victorian silver and gold gem-set brooch. The rose-cut diamond bee, with cultured pearl thorax and circular ruby cabochon eyes. Length 2.8cms. Total weight 3.8gms.

<li>Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.

<li>Diamonds bright.<p>
<li>Individual size and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents accurate carat weight, colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Rubies are medium red, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.<p>
<li>Rubies are well matched, in good condition, with minor abrasions.<p>
<li>Cultured pearl is a creamy white colour, with rose and greenish overtone, in good condition.
<li>Without the aid of laboratory equipment, it has not been possible to determine if the cultured pearl is from a fresh or saltwater source.
