Lot Description

A George III silver teapot, of stepped bulbous form with ebonised curved wood handle and rectangular knopped finial to the hinged lid, the whole raised upon four ball feet. Hallmarked Alexander Field, London 1807. Height measuring 6 1/2 inches (16.7 cm), gross weight 18.4 ozt (572.4 grams).

In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Small area of solder around one of the fixture pins on the handle. Repair to the hinged lid with a later added piece, possible further repairs along the construction seam to the interior, the fixture pin of the hinged lid also sticks out slightly. Minor bumps to the spout. Hallmarks clear and legible, partial hallmarks to the lid.
