Lot Description

A Victorian silver aide-memoire or purse, of rectangular hinged form with scrolled edge, the whole with engraved foliate decoration, hallmarked Neill & Cook, Birmingham 1861, length 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm). Together with three silver vesta cases, the first example hallmarked Thomas Hayes, Birmingham 1905, the second Birmingham 1903, maker's marked rubbed and indistinct, the third Rolason Brothers, Birmingham 1921, a silver mounted purse of typical form, hallmarked Boots Pure Drug Company, Birmingham 1919, a miniature bible with silver front cover depicting five angel or cherub heads, hallmarked Levi & Salaman, Birmingham 1909, a continental filigree card case, etc.
