Lot Description

An Edwardian silver mounted aide-memoire, the rounded and plain rectangular form with raised scroll edge and opening to a material lined interior with compartments, ivory leaf and a silver propelling pencil. Hallmarked Fenton, Russell & Co Ltd., Chester 1906 (pencil Chester 1904, maker's mark worn). Length measuring 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm).

Appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some tarnishing and surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Hinges and clasp appear in working order. Lining with some dirt and discolouration. A few slight dints to pencil. Hallmarks partly rubbed but mostly legible, maker's mark on pencil significantly worn.
