A Victorian silver cigarette case, of oblong double hinged front opening form, the whole engraved with foliate scrolls surrounding an initial engraved lozenge cartouche, hallmarked William James Dingley, Birmingham 1897, length 3.5" (9cm). Together with a George V example of curved oblong form, having engine turned panels to front and back and monogrammed cartouche to front upper left hand corner, hallmarked Joseph Cook & Son, Birmingham 1927, plus two silver vesta cases, the first example with bright cut engraved foliate design and the front with vacant shield cartouche, hallmarked William Oliver, Birmingham 1906, the second example with similar engraved design and monogrammed cartouche, hallmarked Mitchell Bosley & Co., Birmingham 1900. Gross weight 5 ozt (155.6 grams). (4).

Victorian cigarette case dented and slightly misshapen, mechanism stiff. George V with slight dents, opening stiff. Both vestas worn and dented, hallmarks to second example rubbed.
