Lot Description

An early Victorian silver teapot, the tapering octagonal-sided body to a conforming shape flared foot, decorated in a Gothic style with castellated rim above engraved scroll motif panels and further scroll embellishments to the handle and spout, the inset circular hinged lid with octagonal-sided flat top dome also engraved and having an applied foliate scroll finial, with later presentation engraving. Hallmarked John & Henry Lias, London 1846. Maximum length measuring 10 inches (25.5 cm), gross weight 31.16 ozt (969.3 grams).
