Lot Description

A 1930's silver pen tray, of rectangular form with twin curved handles, inset recess and personal inscription to the base, hallmarked Hukin & Heath Ltd., Birmingham 1932, width exclusive of handles measures 7 1/2 inches (19.2 cm). Together with a 1930's silver mounted table cigarette box, of oblong form with engine-turned decoration to the hinged lid and engraved monogram to the front edge, opening to reveal a wood lined interior, hallmarked Birmingham 1939, plus a 1940's silver ashtray with four corner rests. Gross weighable silver 7.9 ozt (246.7 grams). (3).

In varied state, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The pen tray is engraved 'G. J. aug. 20th 1946' to the base and has noticeable surface scratches to the recess. The table cigarette box has multiple bumps and dents, particularly to the corners on the lid causing the mount to appear creased, the lid does not shut fully flush or secure because of some wood strips which have been added inside to reinforce, requires some attention. Hallmarks quite rubbed on the table cigarette box, other hallmarks clear and legible.
