Lot Description

An Edwardian silver three piece tea service, comprising teapot, twin-handled sugar bowl and cream jug, each of oval form with lobed decoration, teapot with stained wood handle and lid finial. Hallmarked James Dixon & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1909. Maximum teapot length 10 1/4 inches (26 cm), gross weight 30.79 ozt (957.6 grams).

In a tarnished state and would benefit from a clean and polish. Otherwise appears in fairly good overall condition, all pieces displaying some surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Some visible seam lines. A few edge nicks. Rim of sugar bowl is slightly misshapen on one side. Hinged lid to teapot appears in good working order, slight movement but closes flush. Interior heavily stained. Rubbing to some but all hallmarks legible, including part marks to lid.
