Lot Description
A late Victorian silver presentation trowel to S.A. Daniell, of typical form with engraved and flat chased scrolls and foliate motifs, the slender baluster shape ivory handle with further foliate detail, hallmarked Hilliard & Thomason, Birmingham 1886, length 11 3/8 inches (29 cm). Together with a plated example for Billesley Baptist Church. (2). </p>
'Presented to S.A. Daniell Esqr. on the occasion of his laying the Foundation Stone of Moseley Baptist Church. May 11th 1887.' Family association with Lots 819 & 821. </p>

Condition Report
Appears in good overall condition, displaying some tarnishing and light surface wear, marks and scratches. Tip a little rounded but still feels fairly sharp. Large deep crack to ivory handle and a small one to other side. Hallmarks clear and legible.
