A George III silver nutmeg grater, the plain octagonal form with double hinge opening and metal rasp to interior. Hallmarked Thomas Phipps & Edward Robinson, London 1797. Length measuring 4.6 cm, gross weight 39.4 grams.

Condition Report
Displaying some tarnishing and some surface wear, marks, scratches and nicks, heavier to some areas. Also some heavier marks and wear around edges and corners. Traces of an engraved crest to lid, now very worn. Hinges appear in good working order and opens and closes securely. Seam lines visible around hinges. Small split in the metal near to one side of lid hinges. Rust visible to metal rasp. Hallmarks rubbed but legible including part hallmarks.
