Lot 12

Lot Description

A mid-Victorian silver mounted and glass small cruet set, comprising mustard pot and spoon, open salt and spoon and a pepper pot, on a trefoil shape stand with stylised shell feet and beaded rim detail throughout, hallmarked Frederick Brasted, London 1862. Together with a Victorian silver mustard pot of plain cylindrical form and bead rims, missing liner, hallmarked Edward Charles Brown, London 1870. Weighable silver 8.58 ozt (267 grams).

Postage: Not Postable

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general expected surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Heavier wear and marks to the base of the cruet stand due to contact with the glass bottles, also has a very worn engraved crest. Some heavier wear and minor surface dints to silver mounts of glass pots and splits around hinges of mustard pot lid so it is very loose with sideways movement. Some minor edge nibbles to glass and a larger chip to foot of glass salt. Hallmarks to stand are clear and legible, matching hallmarks to spoons and mounts, some of these are quite rubbed. Mustard pot appears in good order with clearly legible hallmarks.
