Lot Description

A cased pair of Victorian silver fish servers, each pierced and engraved with a heron catching fish amidst stylised waves and foliate motifs. Hallmarked Sheffield 1860, ferrules with maker's mark for Henry Wilkinson & Co., handles appear unmarked. Length of slice measuring 13 inches (33 cm).

They appear quite tarnished throughout and would benefit from a clean and polish. Displaying some expected surface wear, marks, scratches and nicks commensurate with the age and use. Heavier wear around edges but fork tines appear to have faired well. Some visible seam lines with a possible small seam repair around terminal of slice handle. Engraved decoration still appears fairly crisp. Hallmarks to ferrules very rubbed and worn, other hallmarks clear and legible. Handles appear unmarked. Case worn and hinge broken.
