Lot Description

A William IV silver part canteen of dessert knives and forks for eighteen place settings (three knives deficient and one knife a.f), Hourglass style pattern with engraved crest, in a fitted mahogany veneer case with two removable trays. Hallmarked Aaron Hadfield, Sheffield, twelve forks and nine knives dated 1831, six knives and forks dated 1837. (33).

Appears in a fairly worn and tired overall condition, all pieces displaying general surface wear, tarnishing, marks and scratches with heavier damage to some including surface nicks and dints. Also heavier wear to some tines. One knife broken in two pieces at the ferrule.

Hallmarks are mostly legible with some rubbing and distortion.
