Lot Description

A pair of George III silver sugar tongs with dentil style edge, hallmarked Thomas Wallis II, assumed London 1792. Together with a slightly later pair of Hourglass pattern and shell heel, hallmarked William Eley & William Fearn, assumed London 1820. Weight 2.92 ozt (91 grams). (2).

Both pairs displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with their age and use.

1792 pair out of alignment and with obvious repair to the curved section. Hallmarks lightly rubbed, maker's mark with heavier wear but still clearly legible.

1820 pair appears in better condition overall with possible small edge repair to curved section. In fairly good alignment. Hallmarks with light rubbing.
