Lot Description

A cased set of six late nineteenth century Russian silver-gilt spoons, each with slim, tapering and part spiral twist stem leading to a fig shape bowl with engraved decoration verso. Assay marks for Moscow 1893 and 84 standard alongside a silversmith's mark. Length 5.25" (13.5 cm), weight 3.91 ozt (121.8 grams).

All spoons displaying some expected surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing consistent with their age.

A couple of the stems are a little bent.

Some loss of detail or definition to the spiral sections of stems.

Some slightly heavier wear around edge of bowl but they have generally faired well.

Hallmarks located to one side of lower stem and some marks are quite squashed and distorted.
