A George IV silver-gilt snuff box, the rectangular form with floral chased curved sides to an engine turned base, the lid with further floral thumb-piece and a relief decorated panel depicting soldiers in medieval dress seated at a table and listening to a harpist playing, within scrolled and draped surround. Hallmarked Birmingham 1828, maker's mark TS, probably Thomas Shaw. Length 2.75" (7cm), weight 3.33 ozt (103.7 grams).

Condition Report
Appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general expected surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
Slightly heavier wear around edges and corners with some minor dints and nicks.
Some surface rubbing and wear to areas of the decoration with some slight loss of detail or definition, but overall still in good order. Gilding a little faded or worn to some areas.
Hinged lid appears in good working order and closes securely.
The interior with some pitting marks and a slight mark visible from the vacant rectangular panel to the base.
Hallmarked to interior base and lid reverse, some partial distortion but all still legible.
