A late 19th century Russian silver snuff box, of rounded rectangular form, the hinged lid with niello decoration depicting a domed building, within stipple and zig zag punched borders with corner foliate detail also in niello, the base with a similarly decorated surround to a geometric mosaic pattern and central vacant roundel. Assay marks struck to interior for Moscow 1890, 84 standard, other marks partly worn. Length 3.25" (8.5cm), gross weight 3.2 ozt (99.6 grams).

Condition Report
Displaying some general expected surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
Some heavier wear around edges and to corners with some surface nicks and minor dints.
Hinged lid and clasp appear in good working order and it snap shuts closing securely.
Surface wear and rubbing to areas of the decoration with some slight loss of detail.
Assay marks are located to interior base and reverse of lid. Some marks partly obscured due to heavier rubbing. City mark and maker's mark repeated to inner rim.
The upper part of the Assay Master mark is partly obscured, possibly A.P over 1890. Possibly mark for A. Romanov? (1886-1894).
Maker's mark possibly A.E and looks similar to the mark for Alexander Yegarov.
