Full Lot Description

A Victorian silver inkstand, of ogee shape with engraved floral and foliate decoration, and fitted with three square holders for twin silver mounted glass inkwells and a later silver inkpot to the centre, with foliate handle and raised on four pierced foliate-scroll feet. Stand hallmarked Jonas & George Bowen, Birmingham 1871, silver mounts to glass pots with same date and assay but maker's mark for Henry Manton, central pot hallmarked Robert Pringle & Sons, London 1899. Maximum length 10.25" (26cm), weight excluding glass pots 20.43 ozt (635.4 grams).

<li>Appears in fairly good overall condition.

<li>Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

<li>Some heavier scratches and minor surface nicks/dints to some areas.

<li>Some 'pitting' type marks visible to the underside.

<li>The stand has a slight wobble as one foot does not appear to be at the same level as the others.

<li>The central ink pot appears jammed in position.

<li>Missing a fixing pin to the underside.

<li>Hinged lids of glass pots do not sit completely flush. Some small dints and creases to areas of the mounts and slight damage to hinge pins.  

<li>Some minor edge chips and nibbles to the glass.

<li>Hallmarks and part hallmarks are mostly clear and legible.
