An American sterling silver lidded pot, of bulbous, tapered form with alternating, oblique gadrooned and embossed decoration to body and cover, with monogram engraving to base. Stamped with maker's mark for Howard & Co (New York, circa 1866-1922), stamped 'Sterling'. Height 4.5" (11.3cm), weight 4ozt (127 grams).

- Item shows general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.
- Recesses to gadrooning show dark tarnishing.
- Base shows some notable bashes and compressions, meaning that item wobbles when pressure is exerted.
- There are a few small bashes and bumpy areas to gadrooning on upper body.
- Cover fits well onto rim of pot.
- Cover appears unmarked.
