A George II silver cream jug, of globular, lobed form with shaped rim, raised on three hoof feet. Maker's mark only struck three times to base, and attributed to John (Jean) Chartier (London, circa 1727-1735). Height 8.5cm, weight 3.1ozt (96.6g).

- Item shows general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.
- Likely repairs at join of handle to rim.
- Silver is generally quite shiny and bright, but would benefit from a clean and polish as some dark marks visible across body.
- Maker's mark is struck three times to base. Item is not marked with assay, duty or date mark, but these are deduced from the location and time at which maker's mark is recorded as registered.
- Gauge is quite thick.
- Interior is quite dirty, with polish residue.
