Full Lot Description
A selection of seven assorted continental spoons and a two-prong fork, some part gilded, to include a souvenir spoon with enamelled scene of Venice to the bowl, another souvenir example with enamelled view of Constantinople, both marked 800, a French silver spoon with Napoleon bust finial and a view of the Paris Opera decorated to the bowl, with Minerva 800 standard mark, plus a Norwegian spoon, marked 925, etc. Various lengths, maximum 13cm, total gross weight 4.03ozt (125.6g). Condition Report
- Multiple item lot in mixed condition, all pieces displaying some general surface wear, tarnishing, marks and scratches.
- With some heavier tarnishing or damage to some pieces.
- Enamel decoration has generally faired quite well.
- Mixture of 800 and 925 standard.
- Spoon with windmill terminal is marked 90, but tests around 92% Ag.
- Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
