Full Lot Description
A late Victorian silver globular box and cover, possibly for string, bayonet style opening around the centre, with fluted base, and the top decorated with hunting and fishing scenes. Hallmarked John Septimus Beresford, London 1890. Approximate diameter 10cm, and height 11.5cm, weight 9.66ozt (300.5g).

Condition Report
- With some fairly heavy tarnishing and stained marks all over and in need of a clean
- Displaying some general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use
- With several dints, including some notable bashes around the base rim, and further minor dints to the decoration on the upper section
- Damage to the bayonet fittings with a small loss on one side, however it is still possible to close the box securely
- Surface wear and rubbing to the decoration, causing slight loss of detail or definition to some areas
- Good clear hallmarks located to the base and repeated to the rim of the top; one of the maker's marks is partly rubbed
