A mid-Victorian silver claret jug, the elongated pear form engraved with three oval cartouche, two with dancing maidens holding grapes within patterned borders with bunches of grapes between, the finial in the form of a grape vine and the leaf capped handle with a line of decoration. Hallmarked Martin, Hall & Co (Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall), Sheffield 1868. Height 34cm, gross weight 21.2ozt (660g).
