Lot 98

Full Lot Description

An early Victorian silver goblet, of campana shape with gilded interior, engraved scene to the front depicting stags in a landscape. Hallmarked London 1838, maker's mark partly worn, possibly Richard Pearce & George Burrows. Height 17cm, weight 7.41ozt (230.7g).

Dimensions: 17cm

Era: 19th Century

Metal fineness: Sterling silver

Postage: Postable

Date: 1838

Weight: 230.7

Total lot weight: 230.7

  • Appears in good overall condition, displaying some general light surface wear, marks, and scratches
  • Some light tarnishing
  • With some minor surface nicks
  • Gilding inside appears bright; with some slightly heavier wear and scratched marks around the inside of the rim
  • Hallmarks a little rubbed in parts but still clearly legible; maker's mark with heavier rubbing, letters RP clearly visible but only traces visible of letters below; looking at the dates, shape of punch and style of the letters, it is possibly the mark for Richard Pearce & George Burrows, who were in partnership circa 1826-1851
  • Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition
