All

Fellows Auctioneers has helped raise £28,213 for various charities through items sold in the December Silver & Costume Jewellery sale. The auction, which ended on 4th December, consisted of 876 lots of desirable items and saw large amounts sold for charitable causes – including Alzheimer’s Society and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

A total of £23,248 was raised through items sold for Alzheimer’s Society alone. A late Victorian opal and diamond cluster ring and a 9ct gold Victorian split pearl ring sold for a hammer price of £380, with proceeds going to Alzheimer’s Society, and three diamond rings sold for £280. Earlier this year, the Birmingham-based auction house raised just under £30,000 for Alzheimer’s Society in their final three September auctions, now the company has raised just under £25,000 in one sale alone.

The Costume Jewellery timed auctions at Fellows in particular often generate much-needed funds for various charities such as Heart Research UK and St Michael’s Hospice. Items featured on the Fellows website which are being sold on behalf of charity can be seen marked by a charity logo – an image of two hands open.

Annaliese Foster, Silver & Costume Jewellery Manager at Fellows Auctioneers, said: “We have been able to raise so much money for different charities throughout 2020 which makes me incredibly proud. In a year that has been tough for everyone, it has been a thrill to see so many items of jewellery, and silver sell and raise money for such great causes. I can’t wait to continue helping to raise funds for these charities in 2021.”

Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity. The Society campaigns for change, fund research to find a cure and support people living with dementia today. You can find out more here. Fellows is proud to have raised just under £60,000 for the Society from items sold in their recent auctions.
