Condition Report

A late Victorian 18ct gold opal and diamond cluster ring. The oval opal cabochon, within a rose-cut diamond surround, to the rose-cut diamond sides. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1896. Weight 3.1gms.

Purchasing information
    The lot is in fair to good overall condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear. The band has been repaired/resized, significant wear to the hallmarks. One diamond deficient. The claw to support the diamond is broken, work needed. The diamonds appear bright and well matched, estimated total diamond spread weight 0.25ct, this does not represent the total diamond weight. The opal has a moderate play of colour, predominantly green and blues. Significant abrasion. Ring size N 1/2.
