A 9ct gold ruby and diamond butterfly brooch. Of openwork design, the stylised butterfly with graduated circular-shape ruby line and single-cut diamond accent wings. Hallmarks for London. Length 3.6cms. Weight 4.6gms.

Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches and scuffs in keeping with general wear. Please see important notices for purchasers in the catalogue and on our website for Coloured Gemstones. The rubies are a light pinkish-red with low saturation, and typical inclusions that somewhat affect the passage of light through the stone. Estimated total diamond weight 0.10ct. The diamonds are bright, lively and well matched. Light and dark inclusions can be seen scattered to each diamond under magnification. Individual size and setting prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. The US prohibits the importation of items containing rubies or jadeite originating in Burma.
