A George III matched pair of silver sauce boats.

Condition Report

A George III matched pair of silver sauce boats, having beaded rims leading to the elongated spout, with foliate capped scroll handle and one with engraved initials below, the whole raised upon three shell moulded and hoof feet. Hallmarked London 1778 and 1780, the maker's mark possibly HB for Hester Bateman. Length 5 4/8 inches (14 cm), gross weight 6.2 ozt (195 grams).

Purchasing information
    Overall good condition although displaying some tarnishing. Minor surface scratches and wear with few minor bumps. Hallmarks and engraving with rubbing. Particular wear to maker's mark. The earlier example displays some Soldering to joins fairly crude with some small dints to interior, and light surface scratches. Small area of distortion to rim
