Condition Report

An early 20th century 15ct gold aquamarine and split pearl brooch. Of openwork design, the cushion-shape aquamarine within a split pearl scrolling foliate surround, suspended from a split pearl floral spacer, to the similarly designed surmount. Length 5.5cms. Weight 6.5gms.

  • Overall condition fair, surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Drop deficient. One split pearl deficient. Possible replacement split pearls.
  • Aquamarine is a deep medium bluey green hue, well saturated, with good clarity and small typical inclusions.

  • Aquamarine in fair to good condition with mostly minor abrasions, two areas of heavier abrasion.

  • Stamped 15ct.
