Condition Report

A mid 19th century 18ct gold garnet padlock clasp. The oval garnet cabochon collet, set atop the heart-shape padlock, with scrolling detail and hair panel reverse. Length 2.8cms. Weight 4gms.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general age and wear. The garnet is possibly a replacement, with light surface abrasion and typical inclusions seen with magnification. The hair panel has a green discolouration between the glass and metal.
