Condition Report

Two 19th century brooches. To include a mid 19th century gold memorial brooch, the central woven hair panel within a black enamel 'In Memory Of' surround to the split pearl border and personal engraving to reverse together with a late 19th century gold agate and split pearl brooch. Lengths 2.4cms. Weight 10.9gms.

Purchasing information
    The lot is in good to fair overall condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear. To the agate brooch the agate probable replacement. Replacement fittings with soft solder repairs. Split pearls well matched with slight discolouration and wear to the nacre layers. To the enamel brooch one split pearl has been replaced for an imitation split pearl, a couple of other split pearls may also be replacements, but they are not imitation. The enamel is in good condition, some of the solder joins to the edge are becoming visible. There is a replacement pin.
