Condition Report

A late Victorian silver mounted claret jug, the Bacchanalian mount having lion and vacant shield finial sat upon the hinged cover and with scrolling handle leading to a lower mounted rim, upon a glass jug of bulbous form having star cut base. Hallmarked Charles Boyton (II), London 1880. Height measures 11 inches (28 cm).

Purchasing information
    The silver mount appears in overall fair condition displaying general rubbing and wear to the whole causing some loss of definition to decoration. With light tarnishing, surface marks and some remnants of polish. Hallmarks with light rubbing but still clear and legible, with matching part hallmarks to lower rim and hinged cover. Glass body in fair condition with surface scratches.
