Condition Report
A pair of mid Victorian gold diamond and enamel snake earrings. Each designed as a replacement imitation pearl and old-cut diamond silver drop, suspended within a dark blue enamel coiled snake studded with rose-cut diamond serpentine scattered highlights, rose-cut diamond foliate crest and ruby eyes. Parts at fault. Length 3.1cms. Weight 19.7gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
- Replacement fittings.
- Replacement imitation pearls.
- Diamonds deficient, one to a central drop, one to a crest and one to each of the snakes bodies, four in total.
- Enamel with significant losses, chips and abrasion.
- File marks and slight acid discolouration to the reverse of the snakes.
- Central drops are detachable.
- Scratches to the surface coating of the imitation pearls.
- Diamonds are foil back.
- Diamonds fairly well matched. Diamonds to drops appear tinted brownish, may be discolouration to foil backing.
- Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
- Rubies are a deep medium slightly purplish red hue.
- Replacement screw fittings for non-pierced ears, fittings stamped 9ct. Slight soft solder visible.
