A George III miniature silver chamberstick.

Condition Report

A George III miniature silver chamberstick, the oval form rising to a short conforming shape column with a conical shape snuffer suspended on a chain, having a loop handle with oval thumb-rest and decorated with simple reed borders throughout. Hallmarked Henry Chawner & John Eames, London 1796. Maximum length of base measures 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm), gross weight 2.48 ozt (77.4 grams).

Purchasing information
    The chamberstick is heavily tarnished throughout. General surface wear, marks and scratches. A couple of minor dints including one to the column. Seam lines clearly visible to the column and snuffer and possible small solder repairs to snuffer. The handle is broken at the join. Hallmarks and maker's mark are located to the underside, some slight rubbing but still clearly legible. Corresponding part hallmarks to snuffer. Chain is not hallmarked.
