Condition Report

A ruby and diamond crescent brooch. The vari-shape ruby and old-cut diamond crescent lines, with rose-cut diamond terminals. Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 1.10cts. Length 3cms. Weight 5.6gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.

  • Rubies vary in shape and appearance.

  • Rubies range from bright to dark and slightly pale, pinkish and purplish red, some patchy and some even in saturation, with fair to strong saturation and good to fair clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Diamonds mostly well matched for colour and clarity, variation in outline shape.

  • Diamonds bright.

  • Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Diamonds in mostly good condition with minor abrasions, a few show small nicks and chips, one has a fairly large chip.

  • Rubies in mostly good condition with minor abrasions, a few show more significant abrasion and others have small nicks and chips, one has a fairly large chip to the edge.
