Condition Report

An early 20th century platinum diamond and ruby dress ring. The old-cut diamond collet, with similarly-cut diamond quatrefoil and single-cut diamond surround and calibre-cut ruby spacers. Estimated total diamond weight 1.25cts, principal diamond estimated H-I colour, P1-P2 clarity. Approximate ring size M. Weight 4.9gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good to fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Band shows evidence of repair/ resize, solder line and pitting marks visible.
  • Band has inner bead sizing aids, restricting an accurate obtainable ring size.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Diamonds fairly bright.

  • Principal diamond with large, light, surface reaching feathers.
  • Rubies are well matched, medium red hue, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Rubies are in good condition with minor abrasions.

  • Diameter of ring head 1.4cms.
  • Electronically test as platinum.
  • Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
