An early 20th century cultured pearl and diamond pendant, with 9ct gold chain.

Condition Report

An early 20th century cultured pearl and diamond pendant. Of openwork design, the cultured pearl, with old-cut diamond quarterly surround and single-cut diamond scalloped border, suspended from a later 9ct gold chain. Estimated old-cut diamond weight 0.60ct, I-J colour, SI-P1 clarity. Chain with hallmarks for Birmingham. Length of pendant 3cms. Length of chain 44cms. Total weight 7.3gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Diamonds bright.

  • Diamonds generally with small light and dark inclusions under 10x magnification.
  • Glue residue can be seen to the cultured pearl setting.

  • Some stones are replacements.

  • Cultured pearl has a creamy white body colour, with rose and greenish overtones.

  • Cultured pearl in good condition, with minor abrasions.
  • Surmount is a later addition.

  • Estimated dimensions of cultured pearl 10.2mms.

  • Cultured pearl in good to fair condition with some light abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.
