An early Victorian 18ct gold split pearl pendant.

Description

Condition Report

An early Victorian 18ct gold split pearl pendant. Designed as a double sided cross, with split pearl floral central accent and scrolling terminals, to the similarly-designed reverse, suspended from a tapered surmount. Length 9cms. Weight 16.2gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good to fair. Some scratches, small dents and slight discolouration in keeping with general wear.
  • Soft solder can be seen to the lower and top parts of the cross.
  • Shows evidence of repair/ alteration to surmount, possible replacement/ a later addition.
  • Split pearl is a white hue, with muted lustre.
  • Split pearl in good condition with minor abrasion.

  • Diameter of split pearl 5.4mms. Unable to assess depth due to setting.
  • Dimensions of cross 9.1 by 6cms.
