Condition Report

A mid Victorian gold foil-back topaz brooch, circa 1870. The oval-shape foil-back pink topaz floral wreath, with cannetille and scrolling foliate engraved detail, suspending a similarly-designed drop. Length 6.2cms. Weight 8.4gms. With fitted case.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Possible replacement clasp.
  • Slight general discolouration. Topaz are foil back, most, if not all pink colour is from the backing.
  • Foil backing shows slight deterioration.
  • Stones in good condition with minimal abrasions.

  • Case shows minimal wear. Silk with gilt lettering for J&T Wilkinson, Leeds.
