An early Victorian pair of silver open salts, each designed as a scalloped bowl, with gilt interior and engraved griffin head crest, supported on a similarly scalloped foot, with floral embossed and chased scrolling rims. Hallmarked Joseph Angell I & John Angell I, London 1839. Diameter 4 1/8 inches (10.5 cm). Weight 10.02 ozt (311.7 grams).

Purchasing information-
Good overall condition with scratches, very small dents and tarnish in keeping with age and use. Interiors possibly re-gilded. Slight wear to the gilt finish. Both sets of maker's marks worn. One set of hallmarks worn. Small marks to one of the foot rings.
