A giardinetto brooch. The gem-set floral spray, with gemstones to include emerald, sapphire and ruby, atop an old-cut diamond jardiniere, within a gem-set foliate surround. Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 0.55ct. Length 4.1cms. Weight 13.2gms.

Purchasing information-
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface wear in keeping with age/general wear. Foliate surround dates from the late 19th century. Replacement gemstones. Later central spray with replacement settings. Replacement pin. Other gemstones possibly include aquamarine, turquoise and further gemstones, tests inconclusive. Gemstones vary in colour saturation from pale to moderate. Fairly good clarity with typical inclusions. Gemstones in fair to good condition, some with minor abrasion, others with significant nibbles and surface wear. Please see Important Notices for Purchasers in our catalogue or on our website for coloured gemstones. Diamonds fairly bright. Individual size prevents accurate colour/clarity assessment. Scattered to large and profuse inclusions visible to the unaided eye, many are surface reaching. Diamonds in fair condition with some significant abrasion, nibbles and some small chips.
