Condition Report

A mid 20th century tourmaline and colourless-gem brooch, the oval-shape tourmaline and colourless-gem cluster, suspended from a colourless-gem decorative line, to the replacement 9ct gold plain bow surmount. Bow surmount with hallmarks for Birmingham, 1963. Length 5.7cms. Weight 6.8gms.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition fair to good. Some surface wear and scratches in keeping with age/general wear. Bow surmount and pendent cluster assembled. Small areas of soft solder in places. Tourmaline green, dark colour saturation. Colourless gems vary in hue, some are drawing more of a yellowish hue than others, some possible replacements. Fairly good clarity with typical inclusions. Tourmaline in good condition with minor abrasion and nibbles. Colourless gems in fair to poor condition, some with abrasion, others with significant nibbles and chips.
