Condition Report

A late 19th century 15ct gold diamond locket. The diamond point anchor, within a circular-shape panel, to the plain reverse and hoop surmount. Length 3.3cms. Weight 7.8gms.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition fair. Some surface wear in keeping with age. Wear to the gilt surface. Large soft solder repairs to the interior of the front panel. Significant scratches to the interior panels. Large scratches to the back panel and at the side near to the hinge. Due to the nature of the diamond point it is not possible to provide an accurate total diamond weight. Estimated total diamond spread weight 0.12ct, which is no indication of the actual total diamond weight. Individual size prevents accurate colour/clarity assessment. Some diamonds have brownish hues, possibly due to the backings. Diamonds in fair to good condition, some with minor abrasion, some with significant nicks and chips.
